A REAL LIFE SHORT STORY ABOUT A GREAT DEVOTEE OF MA DURGA🕉️🙏😊

Once there lived a man named Haricharan in a village. He was a bangle-seller. He was an illiterate and was a great devotee of MA DURGA. He was forever chanting MA DURGA'S Name. Happy or sad it was DURGA, hello or bye it was DURGA. So much so, that people forgot his original name, and started calling him DURGA DAS. He was a hard worker and would go in the morning to all neighbouring villages, and would return only in the night doing his business of selling bangles.

One day, it was the summertime. The climate was very hot. Harichan was as usual going in search of his business. The Sun was very severe, and he was thirsty. He saw a small lake, and went to quench his thirst. He sat under a tree, thinking of what he and his family would eat, as there was no business.

Then, a little girl of around 8 years, came to him and asked him, if she could get some bangles. The little girl looked so enchanting, that DURGA DAS, felt an unexplainable joy, looking at her, and he adorned her hands with beautiful bangles of radiant colours. The girl was very happy looking at her hands, but she told him that she had no money to pay him and he could take back the bangles given by him.

DURGA DAS said that it was a gift from him, and she needn't take the bangles off.

The girl said she will not take the bangles without giving the money to him and asked him to go to her father, UMAPADA BHATTACHRYA, and take money from him. She even said that he would refuse and say he did not have a daughter but asked him to tell that money was in a box under the idol of Durga.

DURGA DAS went to the address told by the girl and asked for UMAPADA BHATTACHRYA. His wife came and was surprised at DURGA DAS'S story and called her husband. UMAPADA BHATTACHRYA after listening to the story, said that he's a poor man in debts, unable to feed his family, and neither does he have money to pay for bangles, nor does he have a daughter.

DURGA DAS got angry, and said just to avoid money, he shouldn't say that the beautiful divine girl, who brought his bangles, not his daughter and told him about the box under the Durga idol, that contained money. UMAPADA was shocked and he went and looked into the box under the Durga idol he worshipped daily. And indeed there was a lot of money, and jewels. UMAPADA came out In tears, and asked DURGA DAS about the girl.

Both UMAPADA and DURGA DAS went to the lake, and realized that the girl is none other than DURGA the Mother Goddes. They wept and asked her to appear. Immediately two hands with bangles given by DURGA DAS came from the lake and immediately disappeared. Both Umapada and Haricharan were spellbound.

They realized the greatness of the mother and lived happily thereafter.
