A REAL LIFE SHORT STORY OF JWALAMUKHI TEMPLE šļø
(17/9/23)
In the late 16th century, there was a great devotee of MA JWALAMUKHI, called DHYANU BHAGAT. He once went on a pilgrimage to KANGRA, which is the powerful shaktipeeth, where Mata Sathi's tongue fell, and is worshipped as an eternal fire.
He Was passing Delhi, with other devotees, on Horses. He was stopped by the Mughal Tyrant AKBAR, who asked him where he was going . DHYANU BHAGAT said he was going to KANGRA to have darshan of MA JWALAMUKHI.
When he was asked to describe the godess, DHYANU BHAGAT got into blissful state of mind, And described Ma JWALAMUKHI, the Adiparashakti with epitome of bhakti. The tyrant Akbar couldn't tolerate this, and cut off the heads of all Horses, and told DHYANU BHAGAT, if your goddess is so powerful, then let her get these beheaded horses alive.
DHYANU BHAGAT prayed to MA to change the devil's mind and make him come along with them to pilgrimage to KANGRA. Miracle happened, and the beheaded horses became alive.
Shocked and taken aback, Akbar decided to go along with the entourage with a 46 KG gold canopy or CHATRI as a gift to MA JWALAMUKHI. As they reached the temple, Akbar saw the eternal flame, and the devotion with which Ma was being worshipped, the iconoclastic devil tried to extinguish the divine fire with a stream of water, and by putting large iron domes on it.
When none of his devilish efforts, were fruitful, He got scared, and offered the golden canopy to MA JWALAMUKHI and saying boastfully, take this gift Ma, as none might have offered you such a precious gift.
As he installed the canopy above the divine fire, the canopy broke and fell down, and it got transformed into a weird Unknown metal. Startled by this rejection by Ma, AKBAR fled. The canopy still to date is in the temple, as an example for the rejection of the arrogant iconoclast Akbar, and is called AKBAR KA CHATTRA.
The mysterious part is none of the advanced scientists or science could Ascertain the metal even to this day. Ma JWALAMUKHI temple, stands tall after resisting the atrocities of Mughals and the British, as an example of the all pervasive power of Ma Parashakti.
