Morningâs SHORT DHARMIC STORY 29/8/24:
KANAKADASA, was a great poet of the 16th century, in Karnataka. He dedicated himself to Krishna, and soon he found his guru in SRI VYASA RAYA THEERTHA.
One day SRI VYASA RAYA called all his disciples, and gave them each a banana, and said that the banana is charged with the energy of divine mantras, and should be eaten only while none are seeing.
The next day, the Guru asked each disciple if they ate the Banana, and if they did, how they ate. Each came up with an answer about how they ate the Banana.
KANAKADASA, was standing with his head bent, and with the banana still in hand. When SRI VYASA RAYA asked why he didn't eat the banana yet, KANAKADASA replied, wherever he went, and in whatever corner he sat, he could see the divine presence of Krishna and his guru. So he couldn't eat the Banana.
VYASA RAYA felt elated, and taught him the path to enlightenment, saying that to understand scriptures, read about Bhagawan is one thing, but to believe them, and feel the presence of the Omnipresent, Omniscient Bhagawan needs immense faithđ
