शुक्लां बरधरं विष्णुं (Shuklam Baradharam Vishnum) - Have you ever wondered, why the sloka of Ganesha has the name Vishnu in it?
Here goes the story. Ganesha actually originated from OMKARA, (the first primordial sound of the cosmic realm. The depiction of Ganesha if observed is just like the symbol ). He came as the son of Ma Parvati multiple times in multiple kalpas, in many ways.
In one such Kalpa, Ma Parvati once desired that Bhagawan Vishnu be born as a son to her, and did PUTRA KAMESHTI VRATA( Not yagna). After the VRATA, she cooked food for all the Devatas, and fed them.
Then Vishnu came for his food, and Ma Parvati rushed to make preperations to serve him. Afer she served the food, she invited Vishnu to be the Bhokta. Vishnu came , sat near the food and then vanished. Ma Parvati searched for him, and disappointed that Bhagavan Vishnu wouldn't be fed, retired into her private quarters. To her amazement, she saw a child sleeping on her bed, and then realised that Bhagawan Vishnu, pleased with her VRATA, blessed her as her son. Hence the sloka
