SAINT TULSIDAS JI built a small hut on the ghat of Ganga in Varanasi and was yearning to see PRABHU SRIRAMA.
Every day, he would do his daily rituals of SANDHYA VANDANA, ANUSHTANA AND JAPA, and pour the water of the ritual to the roots of a big Banyan tree besides his Ashram.
Incidentally, the tree was abode to a BRAHMA RAKSHASA. One day the RAKSHASA appeared before him and said that he attained release from his painful ordeal of being a BRAHMA RAKSHASA for many Kalpas, because of the pious water of his JAPA and ANUSHTANA.
He told TULSIDAS ji that he would want to grant a wish, whatever possible with him. TULSIDAS ji asked him if he could get him the darshan of PRABHU SRIRAMA, as his mind was always engrossed only on him.
The Brahma rakshasa said that he cannot do that, but he would tell him about someone who would be able to show him PRABHU SRIRAMA. He asked him to do RAM KATHA everyday, and whoever comes first, leaves last and is engrossed and overwhelmed in katha, catch hold of that person. He will show you PRABHU SRIRAMA.
TULSIDAS ji the very next day, did Rama Katha. He saw a mendicant in dirty clothes, unkempt, and covered in dust reach the venue first. As the Katha was progressing, he was engrossed , and overwhelmed with joy and bhakti . He was there till the last, and Tulsidas ji went and fell on his feet and asked him to lead him to PRABHU SRIRAMA.
The person said I'm an uneducated beggar, how can I take you to SRIRAMA. But Tulsidas ji wouldn't leave his feet, and low and behold, the beggar came to his original form, and he was none other than HANUMAN JI, who led TULSIDAS ji to the divine darshan of PRABHU SRIRAMA 🙏🙏
